Generally, pallet wrap falls into two methods of manufacture – blown and cast.
Blown pallet wrap is made by blowing heated resin into a bubble which is then cooled and flattened into rolls.
Cast pallet wrap, as the name suggests, is produced using a cast extrusion process. This film is clearer than blown pallet wrap, making it ideal for environments where wrapped items containing barcodes or labels can be easily scanned or read through the film.
At Box Depot you will find our pallet wrap listed as a single roll or a box of six rolls, but you can also purchase full or half pallet quantities of clear pallet wrap, black pallet wrap or machine pallet wrap. Simply contact Box Depot with the number of pallets of pallet wrap you require.
The majority of commercially-used pallet wrap is made from LLDPE (linear low-density polyethylene) which is a plastic designed for it’s strength and stretchability. Pallet wrap can be recycled but as it is a thin plastic film, it’s not always an easy process.
