FAQ

Thank you for your interest in finding out more about Hacona Heat Sealers!

Easily seal your products into plastic bags for a truly professional finish!

What can I seal with a Hacona Heat Sealer?

Flexible plastic film and bags such as PE, PP, PA, PVC and other thin laminate films can be sealed. PE film up to two layers of 200 microns can be sealed.

Are Hacona Heat Sealers available in different colours?

Due to the high temperatures of the sealing bar that is required, for safety, Hacona Heat Sealers are an eye-catching orange powder coated extruded aluminium for general use.

A silver-coloured anodised aluminium model is available for food- and pharma-related industries although it should be noted that the metal is not acid-proof.

How large a seal does a Hacona Heat Sealer Produce?

The C-Type Sealers create a seal of 2.5mm.

The S-Type Sealers create a seal of 5mm.

What temperature does a Heat Sealer operate at?

Heat sealers are used to weld together two layers of thermoplastic. Thermoplastics are heat-reactive and tend to melt and seal at roughly 140 degrees Celsius which means a heat sealer must press together the two layers at this temperature to seal them properly.

Can a Hacona Heat Sealer overheat?

All Hacona Heat Sealers work on the Impulse Sealing Principle. The sealing wire  will only get hot when the sealing bar is closed during the sealing process. After the sealing process, the temperature of the sealing wire will automatically diminish. This reduces the possibility of a Hacona Heat Sealer overheating.

How long does it take to heat seal a product?

This is determined by the thickness and type of material used, but often it takes less than two seconds to fully seal.

Does the heat sealer need to be the size of my products?

Hacona Heat Sealers use bar sealer technology. The sealing bar should be larger than the product being bagged. A complete seal will not be reached if the bar is shorter than the product.

What can not be packaged using a Hacona Heat Sealer?

The sealing wire of a Hacona Heat Sealer can reach high temperatures. In order to avoid danger to the operator and the machine, the following should not come in contact with a Hacona Heat Sealer: liquids, wet products and flammable materials.

I already have a Hacona Heat Sealer - can I get spare parts?
