Got a question about Bubble Wrap?
Do you need additional information about bubble wrap?
Technical advances in the manufacturing process means that bubble wrap can now be manufactured with post-consumer waste plastic, usually at least 30%. This mean that the bubble wrap you receive might be a slightly grey colour. Don’t worry! It just means that it has been manufactured with recycled plastics rather than virgin plastic!
How much bubble wrap you require depends on what you are trying to wrap. Remember that bubble wrap is primarily a cushioning product so often benefits from more than one layer wrapping items. The most popular size of bubble wrap at Box Depot is 500mm wide and we offer lengths of 10 metres, 20 metres and 100 metres to suit all requirements.
When you receive your bubble wrap, you will notice that one side is flat while the other is ridged with bubbles. For maximum cushioning protection, it is recommended to wrap your items with the bubbles facing inwards. It is also advised that when wrapping your items in bubble wrap, it should be in a clean area as any dust, grit or debris could get trapped within the bubble wrap layers and damage your items within the wrapping.
Bubble wrap is a plastic product. The bubble wrap offered by Box Depot is made from at least 30% post-consumer plastic waste. In Ireland, since 2021, many recycling facilities will accept clean and dry bubble wrap through your household recycling wheelie bin. However, if you have a large quantity to dispose of, please check with your facility provider first.
