The Sweed CE-517XHD is the most powerful machine in the Sweed range - built for companies processing large volumes of strip iron, heavy-gauge wire and other demanding linear materials that would overwhelm a lighter chopper. Like the CE-513, it features a 12mm sheet steel housing for aggressive industrial environments, but the 517XHD adds compressed air-activated feeding and a rotating knife locked between two solid flywheels for maximum cutting power.
Where the CE-513 handles light cables and standard packing wire, the CE-517XHD goes further ... it is specifically equipped to process high-tensile baling wire, piano wire and solid aluminium and copper rods. Strip iron up to 50mm wide and 3mm thick is well within its capability. If your facility deals with the toughest scrap materials on a regular basis, this is the machine you need.
The feed mechanism is activated by compressed air via a foot switch, keeping the operator’s hands clear of the infeed at all times. A magnetic starter prevents unexpected restarting after a power loss. The rotating knife is locked between two solid flywheels, providing the extra cutting power needed for heavy-gauge materials without sacrificing consistency of cut.
Chopped pieces are reduced to approximately 90mm lengths - compact enough to store in a standard bin and straightforward to transport for recycling. Every kilogram of PET recycled into new strap material saves up to 75% of the CO₂ cost of virgin PET production ... equivalent to 4.3kg of CO₂, or driving a car for 40km, per kilogram recycled.
