Is a Poly Mailing Bag considered an envelope or package?
Poly Mailing Bags are technically envelopes. If shipping with An Post, a depth of 25mm will turn your envelope into a Packet while a depth of 600mm will mean it is a parcel.
Can a Poly Mailing Bag be reused?
Due to the tamperproof adhesive seal, a mailing bag cannot be reused. Therefore a poly mailing bag is considered a Single Use Plastic Item. However a customer could reseal the mailing bag using tape etc to return a product to you.
What can be shipped using a Poly Mailing Bag?
Poly mailing bags are a good option for anything that can’t be crushed – like clothing. They’re also useful for products that are already in sturdy packaging – like shoes – that you don’t think will stay sealed while in transit. Think to yourself … “Will this item be okay if a courier flings the mailing bag across the room onto a pile that then gets heavy boxes tossed on top of it?” If the answer is “yes” then you can use a poly mailing bag!
The poly mailing bags don’t fit the product?
Manufacturing tolerances on mailing bags mean that all sizes and thicknesses are approximate. Standard tolerances are in line with industry standards. However bag width and/or bag length may vary by +/- 3mm or +/- 3% whichever is the greater. Where a mailing bag size is critical, please send Box Depot a sample of the product to be packed so that we can match the correct size mailing bag to your product.
